Here’s my birthday message to my country, on a sandwich board with which I will show up at the local 4th of July gathering in my community of El Cerrito, California.
It’s fascinating to watch and sense the pulse of country as this 250th 4th of July finally arrives for us Americans.
While the anti-democratic outrages from the top continue unabated, and we seem incurably and deeply divided among ourselves, there’s much else happening at the grass roots.
Everywhere, not just in the “blue bubbles”. A glimmer of remembering the heritage of our great ideals, what we have in common, and that we can change the future to something much better than the present.
As a member of a group I belong to, Citizen Joy (www.citizenjoy.org) said: “Hope Is On The Menu!”
